Default taat trans sensor question

on my 02 sl1 taat above the spin on trans filter theres a sensor that looks like my ects and iat sensors same connector and everything, what is the name of the sensor and can i replace it with a ects? im had the transmission rebuilt and that sensor was not replaced, id feel better to replace it

That is the TTS (trans temperature sensor) and is identical to the ECT and IAT sensors; Standard Motor Products #TX73, as I recall.
