Parking Brake Button

I was just wondering if anyone (maybe a machinist) has come up with or knows of a source for a replacement for the plastic parking brake button that tends to crack, break, and fly out like a bullet. This happened to me twice so far and once was when I was out of the car. Luckily, the car 98 SL was in first gear and only on a mild grade. I was thinking aluminum or stainless would be good, but it would require a lot of work and have to be properly threaded etc. Now I am even having trouble finding the plastic one as a replacement. I'm surprised that button wasn't part of a recall and a decent replacement offered by Saturn as this is a safety issue.

get a Cusco Drift Knob or a DiF Drift Spin Turn Knob
