The heading about describes what I've got. It is hot in Texas- especially in my '98 sw2! Usually it will come on and blow cold and on high initially, but as I go it will slow, or stop...with or without bumps.I first noticed it with bumps and quick stops- it would come on. Seems to be getting less and less cooperative. I've been searching threads forever and can't find one that addresses this. Please help!!

Do you have a thermometer to monitor the center vent temperatures? They're inexpensive at most auto stores and fit well to give you an idea of how cool it can be. Average temps of 45F or lower is fine with the fan on med/hi speed. Another issue not described is whether or not you're having fan speed problems and if its related to a worn out fan if you use the a/c often throughout the summer. If you suspect a fan problem you'll have to check the wiring to the fan and if you can detect any burned wires suggesting poor/loose connections, especially the ground wire. Hopefully this is a fan issue and not an a/c problem.

Sorry to get back so late- the air is cold- the blower only works intermittently
or not at all. I guess I may need to replace it- or at least check it first. Where is it located in a SW2? How is it checked? Are there any other reasons for the on/off (mostly) off symptoms that I am experiencing? |

Oh, ok, its a blower issue. That's good and way better than a/c problems. Most blowers are under the passenger side glove box area. You can't miss it. A big round housing to enclose the squirrel cage fan, motor and wiring. Look carefully and locate the wiring connector to follow the wiring and see if there are any connections with discolored insulation suggesting loose connections otherwise your fan may be worn out. Check the ground connection too for looseness/discoloration of insulation.
