Default 2005 VUE Radio Problems

In my wife's VUE yesterday; she started having problems with the radio. We had some really bad storms roll through Cincinnati over the past 2 days and alot of lightning. Here is what is happening: Her radio only picks up AM stations, and we are having static on ALL FM stations both on FM1 and FM2. I think that the truck got hit by lightning.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be going on with the radio? Has this happened to anyone else? I don't think it is a fuse, becuase I believe if it was a fuse gone bad there wouldn't be any power going to the radio. I tried turning the radio off and on, but that doesn't make any difference. The CD player works fine.

Does anyone have any ideas? The VUE is a lease vehicle and if this is in fact a problem, will be the first issue we have had with it since we got it in March 2005.

Any ideas or input on this would be greatly appreciated. We are probably going to call the dealershiop tomorrow to see if we can get it in to get looked at, since the VUE is still under warranty.

It's not a fuse; any fuse failure would leave the unit dead.

While it's possible that this is caused by a lightning strike very nearby the VUE, it seems more likely to me that the antenna has a problem. I'd check the cable run from the antenna to the radio. Some Saturns have a point on the antenna cable near the passenger kick panel where the cable has a connector that can be pulled out. It's possible that's all it is.

If that isnt it, try disconnecting the battery cable for a few minutes to rest everything.

It is quite possible that it is an antenna problem, while it could also be a radio failure, or it could need an updated calibration. Either way, it is still covered under warranty correct?
