Default Dead battery

I just bought a 1994 SC2 with 92,000 miles n it. The car runs great but the battery keeps dying on me(it's a brand new battery). When I had the battery recharged a friend of mine checked the altenator ouput and said that it was good. Is there anything else that could cause my battery to drain and yet not get charged by the altenator?

First of all did he check max. output or just the fact that it was charging? If an alt. output is only a small portion of it's max output (i.e. 50 amps instead of 85), it may not replenish the battery. If the alt. output is OK you may have a current draw.
