Default Breaking in: the EFX spoiler

I have had a long time distaste for the EFX spoiler because of its batmobile like look, but considering there is NOTHING onthe market to cover the factory holes, it looks like i will have to give in.......... one of the good things aobut it is it doesnt interfer with rear view right? cmon, people boost my confidence on this one... tell me good thing!

I didn't want the spoiler on my Ion so the dealer said they would switch it out when a car like mine came in. I don't know I that would work in your situation, but it is worth a shot.

Blue, it took a while for me to get used to having that EFX spoiler. It takes away about 2" of vertical view out the back window. There are times that people are tailgating me at night & I haven't realized it because I can't see their headlights. The high trunkline plus the spoiler really adds up. I will take a pic out the back window when I can....it'll probably be dark when I get home tonite & tomorrow.

That being said, I love how this spoiler makes my car look. It does have that bat-wing look, but it has to to grab the factory holes. I still think it's MUCH better than stock & would have kept my QC without a spoiler rather than that hideous stock spoilers location in the middle of the trunk.

I couldn't agree more jmettee ... that was probably the first thing I noticed when I got in my car, but after a while I've gotten used to it, and it certainly sets the car off nicely.

Blue if you have the patience for whenever the RL spoiler does come out, I would wait ... if it fits the holes already there, I'll most likely get one to.

Reduces vision, yeah. Plus I have tinted windows. But the darn thing actually somewhat stabilizes the rear of the car. Most noticeable over 55 mph! For reals. Best one out there I think. Mine was done by a guy out here in So. Cal. for $390. painted and installed, and I'm real picky but the paint and finish was perfect!

well supposedly the official count is 4 spoilers for the red line. as for fitting factory holes does saturn even really know...lol and what is the big deal just punch some new holes and have the old ones covered up and paint reddy to go and it is exactly what you like not a i kinda like it cause of lack of options.

I don't think so. Spoilers on street cars are essentially appearance only, & if they have an affect, you won't ever feel it.

Now if you had a 3 foot wide piece of plywood, angled at about 30-45 degrees, I would believe you felt something at 55 mph.

Oh I think I would notice the diff driving 500+ freeway miles a week. I've done nothing but pay attention to what this car does since I bought it. And espescially after my front end collision, where they had to build it from the firewall forward! to the tune of $10,600+. Insurance is great. No deductable payed. Uninsured motorists are not. B&*#! actually tried to sue ME! Another thing everyone is always having this or that problem. I swear my car must have been made as a first generation after beta testing cause it ain't had problem one! GO SATURN!

www.razzi.com it is similar to the efx spoiler with out the longer ends going onto the trunk lid and it does extend farther off the back of the car

eh, still that flat kind...........
I am interested in that texas high one....... like on the Lime QC that theres a pic of in my gallery..........

A local car tuner shop is gonna fiberglass my factory holes, spot paint it (they swere it will match) and add the new spoiler........
They do really fine quality work and are a big name tuner shop in my area....... so i think it will work great....... and for only $150ish

Hey guys, I have the high wing from the EFX kit (apparently mine's offered as part of the EFX kit only in CA, per my dealership) and it does reduce vision a little from the rear view mirror. It's similiar to the RL version, but the RL wing sits lower. I saw the same rear wing on a Subaru Impreza that passed me the other day (I think he thinks we were racing... that happens all the time especially when you drive a good looking saturn).

I have heard people debate whether or not a rear wing helps or make things worse for your car. Somehow I don't think I'll be at the 200 mph mark, so a spoiler should be just fine. Besides... if it lokks good then do it. I think it's the same for girlfriends... looks attract and action is action. Go, Ions, go!!!
