Default Relay was bought back by GM (Lemon Law)

Relay was bought back from GM (Lemon Law) Last month I posted my gripes with my Relay's continued electrical problems. I had alot of problems with my 1st relay and it was exchanged at 1478 miles. The second one had even more problems such as;
1) Power doors pop open for no reason
2) Heated seats shut off when turned on
3) ABS shuts off and says "service stabilitrack soon"
4) Stereo shuts off even though it was replaced under warranty
5) Ran out of gas for no reason when tank registered 1/2 full.

The only fix GM and Saturn had for the Van was the fuel tank sending unit. Everything else they blamed on a computer glitch that was supposed to be fixed in March.

Well I registered a complaint with Saturn. They wanted the car for another week so an engineer could look at it. I contacted a lemon law lawyer in the meantime and told them this. I complained some more and received a call back from them. The Saturn was brought back to the dealer last night and repurchased by GM. Now I'm a happy guy again.

I am glad you were able to resolve the problem. I would have done the same thing. What kind of vehicle are you going to get now?

GM's has problems with power doors getting them to work 100% for years.

We bought a demo 05 Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition with every option. Got a smokin deal. I own a 01 2500 HD Chevy quad cab and a 70 SS/RS Camaro. I bleed GM, but my wife loves the Explorer. The Envoy extended version was just dang ugly. The Explorer has the 3rd row seat that we needed. And actually it is much easier to access the 3rd row than the Relay. Im giving up a few miles per gallon, but I'm happy.

Nice pick - and it'll retain a much higher resale in the long run I'd be willing to bet. Enjoy.

Glad it worked out, Piney.

The overly complicated, gadget ridden computerized crap GM seems to love has claimed another victim.

My 64 Vette (327-300HP) was bulletproof. No power accessories, no computers.

Hope you find a more reliable replacement.

I doubt that. GM's usually have better resale value, Ford SUV's have bigger rebates than GM minivans, Explorers are more common, and depending on where gas prices end up....

Test this theory - look up 5 1995 Ford Explorers and 5 1995 Pontiac TransSports or Montanas & see which costs more as a percent of their original sticker. Report your findings when done.

1995 Trans Sport, loaded with everything and 80k miles - KBB Trade-in is $2,145.

1995 Eddie Bauer Explorer 4dr loaded with everything and 80k miles - KBB Trade-in $3,770.

A good condition used spute will always be worth more than a used minivan or 'sport-activity' vehicle.

I guess I was speaking more in terms of brand. Regardless, a loaded Expy EB cost quite a bit more than a loaded TS, with lots more features on the Expy; I'd say the TP would be more reliable than an Expy too.
