Default Multi Queston Thread.

Ok here we go.

How much did you pay for your Falken Azenis????

I want to replace the muffler on my car. i am a cheap SOB.
I was just thing today about cutting off the muffler and running a straight pipe sence it has a resanator. Would this be too loud.
I have seen on http://www.qksltwo.com/ that he has side exit exhaust on his SL. Is this legal on my car. I see them on trucks and on cobra mustangs.

Im just bord and destructive. And i like a loud exhaust.

I just want to do something while im trying to get my ECU to my Galant rebult.

I want a good cheep muffler without a ricer fart noise. I've heard that a Thrush GP and a Dynomax sound good, but all I need is a muffler (and that's all I can afford.) So, we're in the same boat, my friend.

dunno about the falkens. look on tirerack.
cut off the muffler only and clamp on a $15-$20 thrush magnum glasspack. loud but not too loud.
dunno about side exhuast but that would be LOUD.

It shouldn't be more than $60 or so to get a Dynomax Super Turbo and Thrush glasspack. The sound is deep and you don't get much of a drone.

I was just gonna go get a plain $20 glass back down at our local parts store, I had one on my old corolla and I think it sounded good.

Personally I like the 3A Racing straight-thru muffler. Quality is good, sound is throaty, and a wicked growl on revving . Main reason my car sounds loud is my intake...

If you have heard a Flowmaster, it is fairly comparable (but better imho)

I use to have a flowmaster on my old 327 firebird. I loved the sound, I also love the sound of my Lincolns 460 rev up with dual glasspack exhaust. but i got to get rid of it now.

i think they all pretty much covered the exhaust parts..so i'll handle the falken part...i have 205/50VR15's and i paid 72 each thru discount tire direct...i DID find them cheaper at machiii but the didnt have the wheels i wanted so to buy them separate and hen have a shop mounted and balanced would hav cost more in the end...so yeah..between 64-74 bux depending where u get em....btw...excellent tire..i love it even tho it is noisy

hahaha..no, not like monster truck tires..but fairly noisy...ummm they just hav HUGE contact patches and those tend to make a little more noise than reg tires...BUT if yer exhaust is loud enuff you probably wont notice anyway..the only time i notice is if the radio is off and im in 5th gear at about 1500-2000 rpm (hardly ever)....as far as grip...yes, lots of grip. i had dunlop sp4000's before in the same tire size and these have more grip than those...dry weather i havent been able to find the lmits of them yet..wet weather..hmmm hard to say because i drive like a wuss when it rains anyway but their wet braking is pretty impressve..MUCH better than stock tires...oh and they dont sqeal much in corner either..just make that "scrubbing" sound...holdin the road like grim death...the reason i bought them is they were cheap enuff for me to fit the wheels i wanted nt my budget...now i'd buy them again for their performance....YO FALKEN!! gimme some free tires for this glowing review..huh? :-D haha

I was woundering on price, i need to get new ties and i was thinking they would be like $150 each becouse there "racing" tires. I realy want them on my galant when i get a new ECU for it. I figure All wheel Drive and thoes tire would make the car stick like glue.

illl probably get the 205-50-15, Its a saturn not a F1 race car so i dont need the ZR rating. The only local place that sells them is Sears, so ill haft to check and see what they charge. Ill probably get the tires there and take them someplace else to get mounted.

Remember that 205-50/15s will be undersized. That is the only reason I am not getting them - too small. I think I am going to go with potenza re730s, or just SO3s. Maybe if I can pick up another set of rims (light ones) I will get the azenis.

Im not too worried about incorrect speedo. Ill just haft to take it easy on the pot holes. I would be nice to have larger rims or drop springs with new struts. I think when i get my next days off im gonna go chop up the exhaust and run a glass pack and exit it before the right rear wheel.
