Need help with Code P0502

Looking at buying a sky redline 2008 with manual shift

The speedo doesn't work and the car has the P0502 code

If i replace the transmission VSS and the wiring looks undamaged and the code is still there what else can i do to make the CEL go off to pass NYS inspection?

I read your other post in the Vue forums. Although speed sensors are speed sensors, circuitry may be different from one model to another. Other than a former Saturn techs providing help, your choices would be GM services, a member here with expertise or subscribing to alldata.diy or Mitchell for online service manuals for diy repairs. Having service manuals helps with wiring and sensor location as well as descriptions of error codes. Service manuals provide procedures to determine where the fault lies.
