If there's a Firestone store near you, check out its Lemans Champion HR brand. I bought 4 of them in March to replace the OEM Hankooks on my Ion, at $78 per tire. The tread's more aggressive than the OEM tires' and the treadwear number is higher so these should last longer than the 32,xxx miles the OEMs did.

Good luck!

I have an '06 Ion with OE Goodyear Confortreads. Don't get those. I have just under 40K miles on an 80K mile tire that has been rotated every 7K miles and they are more than half worn. Mine are only 15". I have been looking at the Kumho Solus KR21 on Tirerack since they are $54 each for my size and are an 85K mile tire. Doesn't hurt that it gets a good customer rating, even in snow.

I went with Goodyear TripleTreds on my 03 ION and I'm rather happy with them... they've been wearing OK. I've heard good things about Kumho tires so not bad checking into those.
