Default Quite a bit to fix on my 97 sc2

I m having some pretty annoying problems with shifting lately ... i just replaced the shift cable bushing recently and it was working great for about a week . Now the car is hard to get into any gear unless the car is turned off ... i was wondering if i should replace the cables and whatnot or if there is something else going on that would be easier. Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums!

Shifting hard, but shifting easy with the car off is a clear sign that it's clutch hydraulics or clutch and not cables.

Check out this thread:

You'll want to do the wire test to see how much your fork is traveling. That will rule out your clutch hydraulics.

Do you have the most difficulty shifting into 1st?

What did you use to replace teh shifter bushing?

Some people have had problems with the Toyota wiper bushing and the Dorman replacement shifter bushing; others have used them without problems.
