Default Intake runner diverter/tuner

The intake runner diverter/tuner on my 02 L300 is very stiff to turn.
It will turn via the vacuum diaphragm but will not return under its spring pressure.
So it remains in the actuated position.
What is the cure ?

Default Re: Intake runner diverter/tuner

If you mean the solenoid actuated component that's on the end of the intake manifold nearest side to the battery, then I can say I had problems with that a few years back.

It too was stiff. I had no clue what it was nor what it did. I removed it, cleaned it and reinstalled it but still was stiff. Then looking at the operation worked out it was vacuum operated.. I removed the solenoid and sprayed wd40 down the rod into the solenoid part where the valve is. That freed up the solenoid and it has never given me bother ever since.
