Default Windshield leak

Hey there, I just noticed that i'm getting some leakage through the windshield on my 1999 SL1. It looks like it's coming in from somewhere on the drivers side. I was wondering if the problem can be fixed with some kind of silicon product, or would I have to get the whole windshield replaced?

I'd ask Safelite since they specialize in windshields (mum works at a callcenter for 'em)

Windshields sit on a bed of silicon for the most part any more. Even when they did sit into some kind of a retainer, gooing it up with window fix it in a tube, usually did little more than amuse yourself rather than did any good.
But i think it should be better to replace the whole windshield. I've actually found SunTec's Tempe mobile windshield service cheapest to have the dealer replace the windshield on my SL1. It was maybe around $250.

FWIW windshields are held in with urethane (stronger bond) not silicone.

Before I spent the bucks on a new windshield that's probably 20% of the car value, I'd lay on 6 bucks worth of sealer.

Maybe Permatex 81730

So? Has the current windshield been replaced in the last 2 years? Is it cracked anywhere?

The next question is are you sure it is the windshield? I can't remember exactly what the S series looks like under the hood right now, but my L series on the passenger's side has plenty of spots for water to get in places you don't want them to.
