95 SL2 - Power steering pump (1 year old autozone replacement - EVO not included, so it's original) is leaking at the EVO - does anyone have a detailed diagram and parts list of the power steering pump and in particular the EVO? I'm betting it's a seal or o-ring...
I exhausted my repertoire of Navy words pulling this pump last night, trying to get my wrench on the pressure line. What made me even madder is that I had the opportunity a few days ago to pull it apart when the engine was out of the car ... but NOOOOOOO, didn't even think about that! Doh! |

Many thanks to OldNuc for lots of emails back and forth on this - we've determined that it appears 2-018, 2-017 and 2-015 BUNA-N o-rings should be ok as replacements on the EVO. I say appears and should as I don't have my hands on those o-rings yet - hopefully this morning.
As a final "DUH" moment last night I browsed RockAuto for power steering pumps and they list a few rebuild kits for both with and without EVO. The with EVO kits also list a number of other GM cars as also fits, so I'm calling the Chrysler parts counter this morning. If I luck out, it's a 10 minute drive instead of an hour to a specialty seals house down town; Rocket Seals in Denver, who also spent a lot of time with me on the phone going over measurements of the ID, OD, grove width and heights on the EVO barrel. Crossing fingers and damn leak be gone!!! |
