questioning in the kidnapping of 14 year old Elizabeth Smart. He is
identified as Bret Michael Edmunds, 26, and is probably living in a 1997
green Saturn with license plate number 266XJH.

They need to get into a long winded car chase with the guy and that way he can make a lot of exposure for Saturn. Then the Chopper announcer can say things like,
"Wow look at that Saturn go."
"We're flying at over 85 mph and the Saturn is pulling away."

Plus when the COP car tries to ram the Saturn it can break off the pannels and expose the space frame. This way people will see how solid the car is. Last they can run the car off the road causing it to flip some 5 times landing on the roof. The door will open and he'll crawl out un-hurt so they can beat him 1/2 to death and send him to a nice jail where the prisoners treat child offenders like there own BIEtches.

Wait, she would probably be in the car with him since he's living in it. Forget everything I said.
I hope he thinks he can come to cali to be safe because if I saw his car on the road I would...........

It'll be quite a scene if this guy is trying to out-running a bunch of cops like in Police videos to avoid being captured.

Hope the girl is fine, just not with him during chase though....

i was thinking about living in my saturn for two weeks, inbetween leases. i thought i could do it but then i thought about it some more. i dont think its going to work. i dont plan on abusing little girls though, thats for damn sure.

The "Saturn person" doesn't really fit the description given by the missing girl's younger sister. He is much too tall and big. But he was seen repeatedly in the area apparently, around the time of the disappearance. His presence in the area was suspicious enough that a neighbor, I believe, took a picture of the car. His disappearance now is a bit suspicious, although that could be truly coincidental or, at least, explainable. However, it was also stated that this person does seem to have a small police history, and some of it was violent activity.

Funny thing - I was at a proceeding this afternoon and there were two, skinny 19-20 year old wannabe gangbangers there - you know the kind. They are fixin to spend the next 25 to life in the pokey. I can only imagine the wonderful reception little pieces of doody like these kids get in the big house. Prison rape is vastly underreported and overlooked by many guards - awwwwwww Sad, but true, they will likely contract the big ghost in the pokey and die of aids in prison. Prisoners have their own code of conduct and they will certainly bring this swayed Saturn driver into line rather quickly.

I happen to live somewhat near where this all happened. While I admit its a tradgedy, I would like to know what makes this girl so important when other people are dissappearing everyday :/

Police said Edmunds was spotted in Smart's neighborhood sometime a day before the kidnapping, driving a green car. A milk man, Charlie Miller, gave police a partial license plate number.

"He just seemed to drive the neighborhood real slow ... as though he was looking for something," Miller said. "This is somebody that just didn't fit for the neighborhood for that time of day."


Is Charlie the milkman implying that a 1997 Saturn does not belong in a neighborhood of million dollar homes?????

Well, on a similar note of bad Saturn feelings...

The neighborhood I just moved to is on the outskirts of Lexington. The road I take to get to my little court is empty on either side EXCEPT everynight, after dark, there is a Black Gen1 SL2 sitting parked on the road, no one in it. This car is parked about 10 minutes walk time away from the nearest house. It's completely dark. This has been going on for almost a month. Ya know, maybe I should call the police, just in case.

Could be nothing, but it's WEIRD!

I hope they find the little girl unscathed!

just wondering where you got that from? A family friend of ours is a physicians assistant at CCDOC (cook county dept of corrections, Chicago, IL) and says that is overrated. says it hardly ever happens and its more of a myth/legend. it happens but i dont think it happens as much as people say it does.

Not to get off the topic but I don't think that anyone really knows what goes on in jails. Near me the guards set up boxing matches between inmates. It got out and several were fired. I think we need to stick on the topic

Re: what goes on in jails/prisons. There was a study performed once, in a university, involving psychology grad students and undergrads. Split the groups into inmates and guards. Despite controlling for education, sex, etc. they had to stop the experiment due to the guards demonstrating that absolute power corrupts absolutely. You can find it online, somewhere, I'll see if I can't remember the name of the lead investigator. Very, very disturbing.

Kidnaped child: I certainly hope they find the missing girl and she is okay. I know she's bound to be scared out of her mind and will need loads of therapy. I want her found, this is very unnerving, to say the least. True stranger abduction is so very rare that it has a particularly surreal feeling to it.

Sure wish this much attention was ever focused on someone who was poor. I wonder how many kids CPS's throughout the US have lost track of due to insufficient manpower. Brr.
