Default How reliable are the 05 Vues?

I have one im interested in locally

Ive had 3 S series, but never a VUE

my sister had the 4 banger Vue and loved it. lasted well like 200k

This one locally has the V6 in it which from what i understand is a honda engine mashed with a honda transmission as well.

What are some of the main issues i should be looking for? This Vue in question has 213k on it with a fresh PA inspection.

What are the BIGGEST issues on these cars?

I's say once you get past the 2004s, rust will be the number one killer.

Front engine cradle mounts, rear suspension mounts, fuel lines.

Original owner, only maintenance. Zero issues, recently power door locks went wonky, replace L and R and OK now. Corrosion between soldered connection inside of Right switch. With 45 years of driving best reliable vehicle. 106k miles. Seats are horrible during long trips. No rust down here in SC.

Besides the frame rust mentioned, over 200K the transmission is the big ticket item to worry about. Could easily go another 100K or could go out in 10K. Usually not worth rebuilding at that point but if you can DIY, a junkyard transmission is a good option. Rear diff is probably worn out with those miles but unless you NEED 4x4, not a big problem. A/C control valves on the compressor often go bad and there is a cheap fix if you DIY, but most shops will only replace the whole compressor.
