Default Just cant find one..

Im wanting a 2001-02 sc 3 door coupe with auto trans and power windows. I watch craigslist everyday and none are popping up. There is one close by but i went and looked at it and the front end has been hit. Mangled up behind the front fascia. I found a bunch on cargurus.com and messaged several of the dealers but they wont respond. I guess they arent worried about selling anything..sucks

Believe me, i know it sucks. I was looking for a sedan before. 2 weeks ago, i saw a bunch of sedans with low mileage and good shape. After the insurance company took their good ol time and sent me my cash, all of them were gone. There was one that im really bummed i missed out on. A purple 1998 twin cam with 138k. Power windows and cruise. And a spoiler. I test drove it and it was niice. He sold it for i imagine 1300 about 2 or 3 weeks ago.

Why do the power windows matter so much? I like the convience, but it seems to me that they are a bit of trouble to deal with should they go out. My new car has them, and i cant get used to pressing in the center to lower them.

Expand your search, maybe? Seems like Youtube had some Saturn videos for sale at some point and perhaps local U-Pull scrapyards in your area sell used cars... Wish you good luck!

The 3-Door Coupes were extremely popular. Probably more popular than GM had expected. They are hard to find, and tend to have higher resale value than a standard SC2 or even the SL packages. Good luck in your searches

I have been trying to get my hands on a 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT, with 5-speed(the car the pioneered our Saturn chassis designs), for about 10 years. All the ones I find have 3-speed auto or the Iron Duke 2.5L engine SE package.

I took a look at Craigslist for fieros out of curiosity and saw nothing but Gt models. About as many as saturns around here. Im not sure on the trans option though. I was wondering what the 4 cyl ones went for but couldn't find but a few.

You have to watch for what YEAR of Fiero GT you get, as well. The 1988 model is the ONLY year with the "originally" designed front suspension(instead of the JUNK Chevrolet Chevette front suspension), and the 1985-1986 2.8L V-6 engines were notorious for crankshaft/connecting rod failure because the main bearing journals were too small.(This was also a problem on many 1985-1986 W-Body, J-Body, F-body, and Jeep Cherokee models).

In 1987, GM increased the main bearing journals and it corrected the issue of crank failure. Then, of course, GM screwed up by making a V-6 that could last for 300,000 miles.......

1988 is also the ONLY year that used the improved headlamp motor design, as 1984-1987 Fieros had a terribly loud and cheaply designed composite worm gear motor and every single last one of them failed.

1988 was also the lowest production number of GT packages, with less than 14,000 being produced before the model was discontinued for, ironically, low sales volumes......

I could regale everyone with how GM killed the Fiero, before it was even put into production, but I will stay on topic with this thread. My reference was merely a metaphor of how the OP will struggle to find the unique amd extremely popular Saturn they seek.

Broaden your search. That is still a common car even for this day and age.

If you're willing to drive a few hours to get what you really want, you should be able to find one no problem..

Power windows are not a neccessity as much as good car that can get u to and from place to place without an issues. Reliabilty is what is most important to me when I picked the saturn. I had two lemons before I bought my saturn with 187k on it now 217k . Pick wisely pick saturn .

My 1984 Pontiac Fiero SE was a great "commuter car". The only major issue it had, was a broken upper front-right control arm(go figure), and of course the headlamp motors didn't work.........

Sure does look nice. If you had to drive that far to get it, i cant imagine what id have to do to get a good car. I want my next saturn to be a Manual DOHC, preferably a 1st or 2nd gen.

Wow! Looks like it's fresh off the line, definitely a loved car and that's all a Saturn really requires. Congratulations!

You didn't mention how many miles it has.
