Hey all! I have a 2002 Saturn SC2. Had a stuttering problem with my car a few weeks ago where it seemed like it would begin to overheat and hesitate causing the car to want to stall for a second or two at a time. I replaced the fuel filter and the problem seemed to go away. Over the past 2 days the problem seemed to come back and today after driving home my SES light came on. It's giving me a P0171 System Too Lean and a P0107 Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure Circuit Low Input. I was just wondering what could possibly be throwing these codes and what I may have to replace. Should I clean my MAP and MAF sensors? Thanks!

Check the MAP connector and wiring. A failed MAP will also cause that 171 code. If you do not want to end up wasting a bunch of money go to a pick and pull and pull a MAP from just about any 00-02 DOHC S-series that has the same physical style map as on your car. Check that your MAP is still clipped to the intake properly.
What brand of filter regulator did you install? Only the OEM (unobtainable) or the WIX 33731 filter/regulator will function correctly. |
