I know there is a threadnaught somewhere which discusses this at extreme length but I can't locate it at the moment. I read through it ad nauseum a few weeks ago, but the key issue with it is all the part numbers have changed at Superbrightleds since then.
So this is what I ordered and they worked great: B8.4D-BHP: Blue (ordered 10, used 6) B8.4D-WHP: Cool White (ordered 1, used one for the odometer) I found the tip buried in the threadnaught that the 8.4 seem to work better than the 8.5. I don't know if they are better, but they do work. Also as mentioned in the threadnaught you have to bend the contacts down to get good contact. All in all it was an easy job, well worth the time since half of the originals were burn out. |

I took a picture last night on my way home just for the heck of it. I have one of the theater lights not working, but that's my fault I'm sure.
Strictly subjective, but I really like the blue lights, and it's nice being able to read the odometer. |

Correct it was just a straight swap. Take out the burnt out bulbs, put in the LED's, and go.
Mine is a Gen 3 (2001), with digital odometer. Key point if you do it, and this may be unnecessary, but regular bulbs don't care which is positive or negative, LED's do. So if you hook it up and nothing comes on (like with mine), just take them out, rotate 180 degrees, and reinstall. |
