3rd gen to 2nd gen headlights

I was looking into a new set of headlight assemblies, mine are so yellowed and foggy that it restricts a whole lot of light, and i’ve tried restoration kits and stuff, none of them have worked very well. But, I like the look of the 2nd gen headlights without the orange reflector bit in it, and was curious if 2nd gen assemblies would drop in and work just fine on my 3rd gen SL1

No idea on the swap. When I redo my headlights, I start with 220 wet sandpaper. Then go to 800 and finish sanding with 2000 or something crazy like that. Final pass is the foam pad and polishing compound in a Harbor Freight kit. The rotary sanding stuff in the kit is useless.

I believe they swap fine 2nd to/from 3rd gen. With the coupes it looks odd if you don't swap the hood as well.
