windshield wiper does not work but rear wiper works

This question is for 1994 saturn sw2 automatic

Windshield wiper does not work but rear wiper works ...
so am trying to eliminate problems...
1. is that a separate fuse for front and rear wipers?
2.if rear is working does that mean switch is ok?

do you think its most likely wiper motor that is bad?
how do I make sure.....it is motor and nothing else?

Listen for the motor and if you hear it, then the transmission nut needs tightened. If you are lucky that is the only problem. Richpin has a video of how to get to it.

I had the same problem but in the reverse. My front wipers worked but the rear didn't. I was about to order a motor until I stumbled upon a thread from this wonderful site on google. Turns out the wires can come apart in the wiper control on the steering column. And that's exactly what happened. I pulled it apart, soldered the wire back and it worked like a charm!!! Check that along with what Anmasher said
