De-Wiper the Astra - Shaving the Rear Wiper

Cleaned up the rear of the Astra with a delete of the wiper. Not much weather in these parts to justify a rear wiper. May not be for you snow belt folks, sorry.

Glass puck insert is availible from Europe for $40.00US including shipping.

Can get by cheaper by making up a plug with some plastic trim clip/plug and a washer in the back to hold it in place. But the glass really looks factory

Removing Wiper assembly not to difficult:
Removing the Arm - Cap, Bolt, Pull arm off
Removing the Motor
1. Pull the plastic rivet by the latch.
2. Yank out the hand hold as it it only held in with some tabs.
3. Pull off panel from lid - held in with clips.
4. Disconnect wiring from motor - Tape or tie it up out of way.
5. Cap hose - fold back on to self and use a zip tie to close it off.
6. External Torx used on the three mounting bolts of the wiper motor.
7. Pull on motor assembly to work the drive shaft throught the rubber glass gromment. Penetrating oil or grease may help this go a bit easier.

Kit comes with a cleaner to clean the glass and puck before install.
Glass plug held in with a black adhesive/sealant.

If anyone knows a US based manufacturer/distributor of the glass plugs post er up!!
