Default Brake lights/cruise control not working

Hey gang. Brake lights and cruise control arenít working. Iíve checked fuses, bulbs, and switches, and theyíre all good. I used a test light on the stop lamp switch socket, and Iím not getting a light. Iím guessing one of two things: either their was a break in the line between the fuse and the switch, or the ground wire isnít grounded anymore. Am I wrong? Could it be anything else?

I little history: our sunroof had a leak a while ago, and some water got inside the steering wheel.

Thanks in advance.

You may not still need advice but sunroof water usually soaks connector C200 which is behind the kick panel next to drivers left foot.

The panel is one piece with several friction fasteners and is easy to remove (start with putty knife at drivers door sill).

Pull the wire lever on the connector to expose the two sections and I use canned air to blast all moisture droplets from pins and sockets.

You can also use a hair dryer or heat gun on low setting.

Water in C200 can also affect several other things in passenger cabin including one or more instrument panel gauges, electronic throttle control, HVAC blower, etc.
...
