Default Trans code 25, engine code 32, 1993 sl-1

Just bought a 1993 sl-1 SOHC saturn, 119K on it, doesnt look like its ever been off the showroom floor, nice car, it is giving me a code 32-EGR and a trans code 25, no TCC, i have 2 questions, first will it hurt it to keep driving it with the no TCC in the trans?
Next, i checked the EGR valve, i pushed the plunger up and then help my finger over the hose connection and the plunger stayed up until i released my finger, so it seems to be good, so would the problem likely be the solenoid? if so, is an autozone solenoid sufficient or is it one of those things were the dealer item should be used?
thanks BTW, when i got it, the trans fluid looked perfect but i had it changed anyways to be sure..

I think the problem would most likely be the solenoid itself, or the vacuum hoses. I would get it from Saturn, at least check the price difference between AutoZone and the Dealer. It might cost the same. I do not like AutoZone that much recently, but this is my personal opinion. Driving without TCC will not damage anything, but will give you worse fuel economy, in the city, not so much on the highway. Do you get your SES light constantly on?

na, its not constantly on, just comes on every now and then to remind you i guess..lol..i was told that the code 25 for the inoperatice TCC was usually caused by a leaking o-ring on the torque convertor input shaft as they had a technical service bulletin on it in 1993, wonder how to find out if its the o-ring or the TCC solenoid? but you say either way it wont screw anything else up in the tranny or shorten the trannies life by running it with the TCC not working?
thanks

the code 25 - no TCC will not effect driveability, but it will effect fuel economy. an aduible test can be done on the solenoid, but you have to have a tech 2 to do it. other that that you have to remove the tranny to determine the problem.
