Default Driver's side windshield moulding issues - 2003 LW200

Hello. I am posting this, and looking forward to comments that may be helpful.
The car is a 2003 LW200, which I have had since 2004. The front windshield is not original, but has likely been there for at least around 10 years, because there is a reg sticker that expires in Oct 2011. Those used to be issued for 2 year terms, so I would have received it in Oct 2009 (or its replacement between 2009-2011, if that is when the windshield was replaced). The rigid moulding piece on the driver's side began to rise at the upper corner around 4 years ago, and I pressed it back and secured it with 3M #08008 "Black Super Weatherstrip and Gasket Adhesive". Today, while cleaning the upholstery, I noticed that the driver's side carpet was damp - I have seen this before. I removed the interior side trim and raised the carpet and dried it with a hair dryer for around 1/2 hour and left the car in the sun with the door open for over an hour.
I suspect it is leaking around the side trim piece (in the green circle area). The piece is also deteriorated (see the red circle area).
Do you know if this piece is available (maybe both sides)? And are there recommendations on how to remove/replace it, and apply a decent sealing under it?

The windshield molding pieces you're looking for, left and right, are still available according to an OE parts website I like:

https://www.gmpartscenter.net/auto-p...indshield-scat

My windshield was replaced a couple of years ago and I think Safelite may have replaced those vertical moldings as well. I know they replaced the horizontal pieces. You might call them and ask if they have such parts available to sell apart from an installation service.

I can look into the body volume of my FSM and send information to you if you'd like. Our car bodies are identical from the front bumper through the front doors.

Thank you for that info! I think this was a Safelite job, also, while I was at work, and they replaced those side pieces. For now, yesterday I used a product that arrived - Permatex 81730 Flowable Silicone Windshield and Glass Sealer. I lifted the piece and spread this in, and then clamped it back for around an hour, on a pretty hot (close to 90 degrees) and sunny day. That stuff should have had a chance to set pretty well. Now, I am waiting for the next decent rain, and then I will peel the carpet back to where it was wet, before, until I lifted it and ran a lot of hot dry air in there with an old hair dryer. If it stays dry, I might leave it in place. But having this parts reference is a big help. Thanks again! I must say that I still like driving this car, and I try to keep it in decent shape. Not bad for a 1 year old used car that I bought for $12,500 (marked down from $14,000, after it was sitting for a few months), in the summer of 2004, and from a Saturn dealer. It now has 217K miles (had around 14K when I bought it).
