Thanks for the pointer! They also have a poll on their home page which leads off "Our experience with a prototype version of Saturn's new Aura sedan suggests it holds great promise." I wonder if we'll see a review soon.

Those are some nice shots--thanks for posting the link! IMO they're better than the press release shots from Saturn/GM. They really make the Morocco Brown leather look nice...although I would definitely like to see a Morocco Brown/silver trim combo.

Thumbs Up Re: AutoWeek Photo Gallery

Very, very nice. The first shot makes the AURA look dams good; agreed these shots are better than GMs. I'd say the dark exterior color is the main reason. And the interior (which Autoweek seemed to really like) looks black, not like the washed out gray in GMs interior shots. I would liked to have seen the silver trim, but still, these photos are great. Can't wait for a full road test.

I actually saw this up in the test area this spring . When we first started building test auras . They just used whatever parts were lieing around just to practice and i saw one with a sliver trim cockpit and brown leather front seats. Trust me

Not good

I was glad to see the photo gallery myself. Random sightings of pre-production Auras on the road here in Michigan got old after awhile. These pictures are much better than anything on Saturn.com. Now I'm waiting for the first set of reviews to come in...

Anyone happen to know what GM is projecting yearly sales to be?

Was told that they are projecting 1st year sales of about 70,000. should not be any problem considering how nice of car it is.

I wouldn't think so. In fact, that sounds like a conservative estimate. Ford has already moved 84,701 Fusions this year so 70,000 Auras within a year shouldn't be too hard.

Just remember that Saturn has a lot less retailers to sell the Aura compared to Ford dealers with the Fusion. That keeps many areas from reaching full market potential for Saturn.

Looking at the photos, I'd say the Aura is to the Pontiac G6 what the Chrysler Cirrus is to the Dodge Stratus. Sort of a less sporty version of the car geared toward an older age group. Personally, I can't stand the chrome trim or those many spoke wheels, but to each his own. It does look a lot like a Chrysler to me, though.

The front end still looks like a smiley face to me with that huge grille and those huge headlight assemblies.

Yep, the Cirrus was a lot better looking than the Stratus. The Aura looks better than the G6. More chrome is better.
You like pointy cars. Sporty has nothing to do with either car.

Yep, pointy = sleek. I hate huge headlights, huge grilles, and gaudy chrome. Now, if only I could get a sleek looking car with dent resistant body panels!

I don't mind it to much, but I like the XE better than the XR mainly because for some reason less chrome looks better on the Aura. I'll resever final judgement until I see one in person though.

Yes, I should have said "new car"! My car is making some kind of noise when the brakes are applied lightly, like a "click click click", and I think it's coming from the rear drums. And the transmission has shifted roughly a couple of times. I think it's when it downshifts from 2nd to 1st, sometimes it does it rather violently with a nice "BAM"!, to use Batman comic book vocabulary! Oh, and I just had the spark plugs and wires replaced, but I might have to get the timing adjusted. I'm hearing some spark knock. At some point I might get tired of having an older car and I'll have to weigh the cost of continuous maintenance against the cost of getting a new car with a warranty.
