Oh-oh, this looks serious. Usually its the cps that faults out in many similar descriptions so there's more work to do with a good cps. You'll have to turn your attention to the fuel system, specifically the fuel test valve to gauge pressure. With or without a pressure gauge.

Go back to post #14 and perform the fuel test as it becomes important now to see fuel spraying out the valve.

The cps not failing in heated water is loosely interpreted as; the timing signals generated from engine rotation is used to turn on the ecm that runs the entire EFI system - turns on the fuel pump, runs the ignition system for spark, and pulses the injectors.
