Default How do you remove the rear brake line hoses?

I need to remove the rear brake line hoses from their metal guide brackets. There is one one on the back of each hub and others before that. The ABS lines are also on these brackets. There is an open slot at the bottom of the bracket, so maybe I can gently twist or tap the metal part of the hose out? Does anyone know how to do this without causing damage? I need to replace both of the rear brake backing plates as the right side is rusted to bits. and the left side is not far behind. I love the salt and brine that my highway and street departments put on the road!
