Could be a CV joint had a total failure.


If your tranny grinds trying to put it in gear without the clutch at a dead start - but does not grind when the clutch is depressed then your clutch and...

Once upon a time - I was 19 years old and had to pull a starter from a donor 67 Lincoln Conntinental donor car - then the starter on my 67 Connie - then install the donor.

It might even LENGTHEN your stopping distance in emergency stops - as the rear disc will lock the rear wheels sooner than drums - thus losing working...

I dont think that is as bad as you think..it looks like you just lost the undercoating... ( hard to tell from pics) Clean it and apply a couple coats of Rustoleum.... When thouroughly dry - squirt...
