Re: I would like some live data specs all S-series years

I know some of the online pricing is going up for some of the repair source stuff. Some threads about it lately. I always managed without a subscription type service and basic cheap repair manual. ...

Re: 2021 Extinct Car Show at Larz Anderson Auto Museum

I wish I had made it to one of these when I still had my Saturn.

I'm glad you guys (and gals) still go and represent. :us:

Re: Economy ? Seriously ?

No MPG or actual economy checked, and a known misfire. Sounds like a recipe for an unknown to me.

Misfires can "just happen" occasionally. Very rarely enough to be noticed unless there is a...

Re: I would like some live data specs all S-series years

Devin,

You might want to search for posts from Jhonky. IIRC he posted a number of logs from trips and such. I think he was more into watching the fuel trims, but he might have had some start up...

Re: Fake Bumblebee?

<snipped to area of interest>

I don't recall the official Limited Editions having the yellow bezel areas. I could be wrong, but several have posted photos and I don't remember it being yellow. ...

Re: I would like some live data specs all S-series years

What in specific are you looking for?

I know there were some data logs from people with readers/apps posted years back. Mostly just trims and temps I think. They might be worth looking for...

Re: Massive Parts Lot - Orange SC and S-Series Parts For Sale

Good find. Nothing like a car with plenty of good spare parts!

Re: Bonehead Saturn Craigslist find of the day

Now at 2K. It's actually reaching a decent price for how clean it is if someone just wants a slow eco miser.

Re: Fake Bumblebee?

I'm not sure if anyone has a VIN lookup for them.

I'd guess if they aren't showing the inside of the gas cap area with the number then it's not a true limited edition that they know of at least. ...

Re: 98 Saturn hot white for sale, maybe?

But...but.... what about those white faced gauges? And that hood stripe has to add $500.

Now it's up to almost being worth $1500

Re: Saturn Craigslist Deal of the Day!

I'm surprised that it didn't go quicker. With used car prices up, that was a steal. I guess many people just want newer cars these days.

Glad you moved it, I know the thought of selling it to...

Re: 98 Saturn hot white for sale, maybe?

I can't see that email address getting flooded any time soon. For 5K you can get a fairly clean S Series usually.

Re: MP3 Trans Issue

Well in that case, it looks like the clutch is in good shape. No wonder it was bogging! :D

Re: MP3 Trans Issue

Was it stuck in 3rd gear still?

Either way, sounds like it ended up being a cheap fix.

Re: MP3 Trans Issue

It sounds to me like something other than the tranny. Anything in the tranny that would create that much drag would be clanking, smoking, rattling, etc.

If you can turn the front wheels when it's...

Re: Radiator Fan Linked to A/C?

Until you get it sorted out and replace the ECTS and wiring (if needed) you can create a manual fan switch with the AC button.

Simply disconnect the compressor connector, then put a jumper on the...

Re: REALLY hard to shift - bad cables? bad hydraulics?

Well that will do it for sure.

Often the tranny fluid goes without maintenance on the manual tranny cars, so it might have been a good thing. Years of rowing those gears does thin that fluid out.

Re: REALLY hard to shift - bad cables? bad hydraulics?

No doubt WD isn't made as a lube, but works well for some stuff, and is great at keeping moisture at bay.

As for your funnel method, I do the same with plastic sandwich or freezer bags. You can...

Well, he's at the right place to fill up. If there was a Saturnfans fuel station, it would probably rarely be busy!

Well today while out and about, it looks like everyone has a fuel need chip on their shoulder. The concerns over fuel shortages has people lined up all over the place. You would think COVID just...

Re: Changed Spark Plugs, Boots, And Ignition Coils; Now Car Wont Start

Well then... first things first.

Make and type of coil packs that replaced the stock ones? Same for the plugs... what type and number? Both of the above can cause issues at times depending on...

Re: REALLY hard to shift - bad cables? bad hydraulics?

I had a similar experience after trying something different to lube the cables after and engine bay clean up. IIRC I hosed them down with WD40 to make sure to get all the water residue off of them,...

Re: Fuel economy chip?

Nothing generic is going to help economy unless it's also risking running lean.

Real programmers and/or chips alter the specific programming of the factory PCM, and the calibration of that PCM...

Re: Overheat issue

I'd suggest checking the above items first. A meat thermometer can be had for cheap if you don't have one.

As for the flow in the rear of the reservoir, that will cause overheating almost always....

Re: Overheat issue

A flashing light indicates low coolant. If the coolant is in fact not low, probably an indication of a stuck float.

A steady light indicates differences between the ECTS (engine temp) and TTS...
