Re: Excessive oil consumption
Correct. It has been a long time since I visited this forum as I havn't had a Saturn for a long time but I have over the years had 5 "S" cars. The first being a '95 SL-2 that I bought new.
It...

Re: Another one bites the dust
As expected, the insurance adjuster totaled the car. After looking it over quite well and taking a ton of pictures, measuring the tire tread depth, she said it was quite obvious and didn't actually...

Re: Another one bites the dust
I would almost agree with you ;) but not really. As noted in my reply to Madpogue, we already have a 96 lined up for my wife. But I know that car. I know when it was purchased, I know the owner...

Re: Another one bites the dust
Good suggestions but the front end parts from the sedan wouldn't be usable. When she hit the pole, she hit it dead center pushing the radiator all the way back to the engine so it's radiator support...

Another one bites the dust
This is almost to unreal to be true. A couple of weeks ago I posted that the 1995 SL-2 we purchased new had met an untimely end in an accident.
Now it is with great sadness I report that MY...

It is with great sadness that I have to announce that a great car has met it's end.
The 1995 SL-2 we purchased NEW from Saturn of Memphis was totaled in an accident a couple of weeks ago. It...

Re: P0341 trouble code
Ok, I checked the routing and I did not have 1 and 4 next to each other after leaving the coil pack. I rearanged them and they are now next to each other in all the stand offs. I'll wait and see if...

Re: P0341 trouble code
When you say "very close", I presume you mean that they are physically close, all the way from the coil packs to where they would separate to go to their respective plugs? So I take it that they...

Re: life of timing chain
I agree with the first two responses. I have changed 2 timing chains on twin cam S Series cars with the engine in the car. It is tedious. But as previously stated, they are designed to last the...

P0341 trouble code
Haven't been on here for a while but I have a problem that keeps comming back.
The car is a 1999 SC-2 with 260K + miles. This problem did not appear untill I did a tune up consisting of plugs...

Re: RKE has developed a mind of it's own
Yup, I did it exactly as described. After I hold the lock and unlock buttons, I get the one horn chirp confirming mode 1. A subsequent test confirms the reset. But when I come back to the car...

RKE has developed a mind of it's own
On my 99 SC-2 I have been experiencing some problems with the RKE/security system.
I have become quite good at resetting the mode and operation of my RKE system. Of late, it has started giving me...

Re: Best Air Filter for DOHC?
That is how I have done it since I put a K&N in my 99 SC-2. I, however plan to go back to a paper filter. I figured I would keep the K&N long enough to pay for itself by not having to purchase the...

Re: Cooling Fan Activation & Oil "burn"
I cut and pasted this from a post I made a couple of years ago. But if you are new to the "S" series cars, it may be helpful and may ease you mind in regards to what you see on your temp gauge.

Re: Cooling Fan Activation & Oil "burn"
Your temp gauge is not marked with actual temps. The fan "ON" temp is approximately 221 deg F. Most people, including me, experience "normal" operating temps as indicated, while moving down the...

Re: Squeaky Clutch, bad gas mileage
Thanks for the input about the clutch. As for the oldest profession, no comment. But another thing that makes Lost Wages more inhabitable is the fact that right now, according to the National...
