Re: Floormats?

I checked the floor mats between my 3 and 5 door Astra and, not surprisingly, they are exactly the same in fit, form and function.

Re: Floormats?

I'll check tonight on the carpeted floor mats fitment between the 3 and the 5 door but I am sure that the rubber all weather mats (p/n 19165845) are the same for each model.

Re: Center Exhaust Section

The center section is made for both the 3 a nd 5 door.

Now the last section, the rear muffler, is different on the 3 and 5 door. The most visual, (and only?), difference being the exhaust tip.

Re: Center Exhaust Section

It cost about $130 for the part and shipping. They can be had, depending on the manufacturer and exchange rate, from $120 to $195. The Walker brand exhaust piece is the most expensive. Look on the...

Re: Center Exhaust Section

Bought one from England and got it yesterday. They had to cut it into two pieces as mentioned in my earlier post. It is Klarius brand GM597A. Here are some pics.

Here is a diagram of the Astra exhaust and the piece I need is #3. Does anyone have a good used one?

Re: Would you buy an Opel Astra grille from Alibaba?

Got the grille from the Lithuanian dudes. First grille came in four days with the bottom lower tab busted off. You can blame TNT Worldwide Express for that. I emailed the seller and they sent me out...

Re: Center Exhaust Section

Thanks for your response. The custom bending shops really give me the creeps because when I took my 1973 Opel Manta Rallye to one in 2008 to fabricate a system they butchered it. After the guy was...

Center Exhaust Section

Has anyone bought one of the European sourced pieces for their NA Astras? These have been long since unavailable from GM parts stateside. I bought one off of eBay from jolly old England but I have...

Re: 2008 Astra

It's been a few days so I guess I could answer this one. Other than what has already been posted on this site, you should look them up too, here are a few things. Generally they are solid well built...

Re: Would you buy an Opel Astra grille from Alibaba?

Thanks. I went with the Lithuanian dude. Same grille he sells on the English site but it is going to cost me 10 USD less and will be here well before Palm Sunday. I will see what I get for under a...

Would you buy an Opel Astra grille from Alibaba?

Right now I am undergoing a budget rebadge on my XR 5 door. I have found four 64mm O.D. aftermarket Opel flash wheel center caps for the 16' alloys and an Opel emblem (56mm O.D.) that should go right...

Re: 2008 Saturn Astra Block Heater cord

Check this out. Currently on eBay there is an aftermarket(?) engine block heater cord for sale at a reasonable price. Although it is listed for a VW, the P/N is 5K0965539, it does cross references...

Re: 2009 Saturn Astra XR block heater cord

After taking a second look at the heater cord on eBay it appears it is a 220 volt, not a 110 volt cord. The wall plug in end looks different as it has only two prongs, not three. You may just want to...

Re: 2009 Saturn Astra XR block heater cord

Yes, that is a pricey part indeed. About $165 + shipping on a GM parts site. I bought a replacement cord several years ago for $138 (shipping included). It was a Calix branded piece and came with...

Positive Battery Terminal Cover Still Available

I thought I would post a PSA on this. Part # 13157732 is available from your local GM dealer. Earlier today I picked up five from the Chevy emporium for $1.62 each. I seem to lose them, along with...

Re: Astra repair nightmare- new video

I enjoyed the series, although there seemed to be a lot of Astra haters in the comments column. But I guess that you are going to get that. Along with a lot of different people try to "fix" this car,...

Re: White Saturn Astra XR progress

No. I had to grind off about a half an inch of the hitch metal above and around the muffler so they would not hit each other and rattle while going over bumps in the road.

Re: The last Saturn Astra owner.

Slow down. I had no intention of accusing you of buying, promoting or even selling anything that was not OEM or an authentic GM part. In your excellent and informative post you listed all of the...

Re: The last Saturn Astra owner.

Like this fake GM gasket and seal kit on eBay for $13.98? Come on, are these things for real? OEM. I think not.

Rock Auto has the complete set, it appears, made by Dorman for about $40. I wonder...

I really do not know. Along with other simple things to do as listed on this forum, I cleaned the throttle body intake last year and the code did not clear. If it was the tuning valve that is not a...

Replaced intake manifold so now I am a happy man

Last week I finally had the bad intake manifold on my XE replaced. You see I was getting the the dreaded P065E code, bad tuning valve, and hence the check engine light for about a year and a half or...

Re: XE Rear Doors - Wiring

Yes. I bought the rear door rewiring kit and was planning to install it last year. Unfortunately soon after, some S.O.B. in a Chevy Avalanche blew a stop sign and came down on me and my motorcycle...

You ever get that figured out? The same code has been coming up on my car and I want to get it solved once and for all. I though the tuning valve was not replaceable on the intake manifold? Pictures...
