Re: If Jay Leno Adds A Saturn to His Collection?

I think a teal colored 1995 SL1 with a lot of miles would be a good piece for him to have.

I'd even offer it as a trade for something else from his collection.

Re: Ac low pressure switch

All good advice given.

If the charge in the a/c system is correct then it should run. I have seen failed pressure switches although pretty uncommon. Replacement is very easy, unscrew the old and...

Re: Highmile gets an upgrade

The tabs at the top of the condenser had to be trimmed downward to get the lower fasteners to line up. I did it in the car but it wasn't easy. I took just less than an 1/8" off them. A second set of...

Re: Economy ? Seriously ?

So you still need to check the coils from what I'm seeing. Just because you replaced the plugs with the same ones that were in it doesn't mean they are the correct ones. Saturn's can be very picky...

Re: Economy ? Seriously ?

Step 1: run a compression test

if good then

step 2: check coils, ohm check and spark check.

step 3: check for a clogged cat-con.

Step 4: make sure you installed the correct copper plugs.

Re: 1997 SL 2 Manual Saturn Transaxel Question

No need to remove the battery. Funnel with a long 'tail' or a piece of rubber hose you can stick into the end and/or electrical tape to it.

Re: Where does everyone look for old S-Series for sale?

I think the emission standards that the state of Ca enacted spelled the end for many of our beloved saturns. Folks had a limit on the cash they would spend for a car with a value of most saturns.

I'd also replace the relay. the only other way would be to wire in a test light or volt meter that you could leave in place so you could see the voltage and ground while driving and when it fails.

Re: Mysterious rear suspension rattle

A lot of time a rattle like you describe is traced to the sway bar end links on the SL2's. The link my not be loose but if the ends are frozen it will give the same sort of issues.
