Re: 2000 L300 Top Engine Noise

At 130k miles, if it wasn't revealed that the timing belt was replaced at 100k miles (a selling point if dealer/owner has documentation) then there's a good chance it wasn't replaced. When I replaced...

Re: Door lock/unlock actuators losing power

Other than members posting wiring diagrams or pdfs (if any have them), searching online may provide free diagrams. The alternatives are subscribing to Alldata.diy or Mitchell for online service...

Well intentioned but falls short on substance. If it were at possible for GM to resurrect any records...

Re: New to Saturn

As a rule, when brakes are serviced, the disc and pads should be replaced together to allow new flat pads the best break in using a new (or if it's worth it, re machined rotors). New or machined...

Re: Spark plugs, spark plugs, spark plugs...

If you have your owner's manual, plug brand and model should be listed. Online GM owners manuals are available by searching for GMs site. Other alternatives are calling your local GM dealer if...

Re: I have MANY brand new dealer parts - selling as a complete lot

The only reason your snapshots weren't accepted lies in image file size. As attachments, images are restricted to 150 kilobytes. Every cellphone and digital camera creates large image files numbering...

Re: Temp issues..

Brain farts are common. You're in a diminishing group of S-series owners not knowing about the infamous faulty coolant sensor unless finding Saturnfans. GM/Saturn issued a service bulletin near the...

Re: 1.5 ton floor jack rebuild

I didn't take snapshots of the jack removed from its frame because I feel it wasn't necessary and there are numerous written articles with images already out there for anyone to find. This floor...

Re: 2003 sedan manual AC compressor replacement

Service manuals recommends replacing the condenser coil with built-in drier and txv to ensure a new drier removes any minute moisture in a repaired system after a full evacuation. Replacing the txv...

Re: 2006 vue awd v6 ac problem

If you are asking me then yes. All vehicle ac systems equalize themselves after shutdown by distributing high pressures into the low side until both sides reach equal pressures. The design never...

Re: How is your L-Series Doing?

No wisdom, just some knowledge and practical skills. I made two threads in the General Saturn Discussions forums; http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2363832#post2363832

Re: 1.5 ton floor jack rebuild

I didn't take snapshots of the jack removed from its frame for easier bench work but the heavy steel frame is too cumbersome for a small bench to accommodate it so I removed the caster wheels, one...

1.5 ton floor jack rebuild

1-This is for a Sears 1.5 ton floor jack.
2-I am not an expert on hydraulic jack repairs.
3-There are smarter diyers that have better methods.
4-I do not have a large bench vise once the jack was...

Re: Ac low pressure switch

It's the other way around. The pcm is the brains for the EFI system. It determines if the ac system is working or dead to know when to run the cooling fan. Dead ac means no fan needed but this does...

Re: 2001 Saturn L300 - v6 3.0 Liter - Timing Belt Kit + Camshaft + Crankshaft Seals

I wandered around my manuals looking for something and decided to look at timing procedures. If the timing belt doesn't walk but stays towards the rear of camshafts then it may be possible for one...

Re: 2001 Saturn L300 - v6 3.0 Liter - Timing Belt Kit + Camshaft + Crankshaft Seals

What do you mean by slipping? Be specific as it can be interpreted in one of two ways; slipping as in camshaft or crankshaft gears skip/slip a tooth or more, throwing off timing completely or walking...
