Re: Bye Bye Vue :(
Hmm I don't know about sun roof but you most certainly can get cruise control.
Ours is a 2012 1.4T 6M LT and it has cruise control and the steering wheel controls. It does not have a sunroof.

Re: Bye Bye Vue :(
I use a pair of Rhino ramps to do the changes on both my Sonic and Cruze. I find it easier to do than the Vue because of where the oil filter is, though I did buy a socket to fit it.
You are...

Re: Bye Bye Vue :(
I hope so, I made sure to keep the ATF fresh and I ran Mobil 1 0W20 + a K&N oil filter on it. Sadly I doubt its next home will be even half as picky as I was.

I'm going to assume you're trying to be sarcastic as the thread clearly states that.

Re: Bye Bye Vue :(
As others have said GM's 1.4 turbo is indeed a timing chain. The 1.8 is a belt driven system.
I've owned two 2012 Sonic's so far, the first was a 1.8+ auto and it was totalled in front of our...

Re: Bye Bye Vue :(
$6K is about all you're going to get from a dealer and I would say its a fair offer. I think we ended up with $5000 but ours needed some routine maintenance.
We were at 103,000 miles.

Bye Bye Vue :(
Sorry guys but we traded our Vue in on Saturday.
We decided to trade our AWD 06 Vue in on a 2012 Chevy Cruze with the 1.4 turbo + 6 speed manual. My wife wanted something similar to my 1.4T 6 spd...

Re: drilling holes in the thermostat?
I barely read the article however there are already several HUGE differences.
That is a Pontiac Grandprix article, most of these cars run Buick 3.8 based engines which are iron block and iron...

Re: coolant flush
As far as I know MOST antifreeze testers are Hydrometers that test the specific gravity of the coolant and all they tell you is whether or not it will freeze. It does not indicate it will not turn...

Re: coolant flush
Don't see any problem with that. Distilled water won't hurt anything and to be honest I used nothing but disttiled when I did the antifreeze in my ATV.

Re: coolant flush
I'm sorry but I have to disagree. True on many systems now you have to crack bleeders open to get air out but its usually not much and very often most of it can be done without the engine even...

Re: coolant flush
IMO Dexcool issues are more like user ignorance and lack of maintaince issues.
I've been running dexcool in all of my vehicles since the 90s and have never had a hint of sluge. As dexcool says...

Re: Gas Gauge at 200 miles
I think that sounds about the same as we were seeing on our 06 AWD Vue give or take a few.
All of my vehicles also had a steep decline after about half way on the gauge. That is except our latest...

Re: Shortage of Vue 3.5 V6 Oil Pans
Wow $600 because someone who changed the oil overtightend the plug.
I've watched people, usually kids, change oil in shops and almost everytime they feel that drain plug needs to be torqued as if...

What was the outside temperature while this happened?

Thank you for most of the replies.

Re: Oil fun. Want everyones opinion
Several reasons.
I can change the filter without jacking the vehicle up. I also literally don't have the cash for the oil.
Times are tough right now. :(

Right now our Vue has I have NO IDEA how many miles on the oil. I'm guessing around 9000 miles and around 5 months. The oil service light...

Re: diy air conditioning recharge?
Another word of caution. The gauge doesn't tell you if its "full". The only way to know is to evacuate the entire system and refill with a weighed amount.
For topping off go by temperature not...
