Re: Discontinued Parts

Is it this one and is it just leaking from the rubber hose part? A place that makes up A/C hoses should be able to fix that and make you a replacement.

Re: Best wheel bearing brand?

If it says made in China, avoid. The problem is, when you call the manufacturer to ask where it's made, they either don't know or tell you they have factories all over the globe. You can try calling...

Might check if the car was part of the ignition switch recall and if it had it done.

Re: Front subframe mounting point rust

That seems like a lot fabrication. I was thinking that cutting out the rusted mount and welding in a new one would be much simpler. Book time says 1.5 hours so the part would cost more than the labor.

Re: keys won't open the doors

Just bought the car? Maybe the last owner lost the keys and had a new ignition lock cylinder installed. If the battery goes dead you're screwed. Can you remove the door lock from the door? If so,...

Re: 07' Vue Restore

None of those things are particularly difficult to do, and if you have something else to drive, you don't need to be in a hurry to get something done. As long as you can get it through inspection,...

Re: Was told I have cracks in my Front Differential ? Should I be worried? 04 v6 3.5l

If you're talking about those fine hairline grooves all over, most every aluminum casting I've seen has them. They form on the surface as molten aluminum cools in the mold.

Re: Coolant and ATF change recommendations for Honda 3.5L motor?

I would avoid any universal or multi-make transmission fluids to save $10 or $15 unless its a beater. Many reports of shifting issues after using them.

Re: Saturn Vue 2006 3.5L Mobil Dextron-IV ATF

Just saying it's easier than an oil change. If you're more comfortable letting a dealer handle it, that's your choice.

Re: Saturn Vue 2006 3.5L Mobil Dextron-IV ATF

Yes, if the fluid coming out is dirty, it's a good idea to do a few cycles until it comes out as clean as the new fluid going in.

Re: Saturn Vue 2006 3.5L Mobil Dextron-IV ATF

What difference? Unscrew the drain plug. Put it back. Pour in the fluid. Any 10 year old could do that.

Re: How reliable are the 05 Vues?

Besides the frame rust mentioned, over 200K the transmission is the big ticket item to worry about. Could easily go another 100K or could go out in 10K. Usually not worth rebuilding at that point but...

Re: 2010 Vue 3.6 V6 Head Gasket Job

Providing details on how to replace a head gasket on a 4 cylinder engine when OP has a V6 is about as useful as showing a Tesla owner how to change spark plugs.
