Re: Rotors "warped" again?

It could just be the words you used but this could be your problem. You should never "ride" the brakes for an extended period of time. You should press and release, press and release. I think it...

Re: 94 SL DOHC water pump pulley looks and feels loose

I would just replace it before it starts to puck bearing and coolant everywhere. It is a fairly easy and cheap job.

Re: clutch installing

I do not know if it is worth reusing those parts but that is just my opinion. Do you know how many miles were on those parts, were they replaced?

Anyway back to the alignment tool, just buy a...

Re: clutch installing

Re: Odd question

That is what your windshield wipers are for. B/c you are cooling the windshield the water vapor in the outside air condenses on the glass.

Re: rusty door sills?

The sills are such a simple shape why would you pay for them. I bent up a new sill in about ten minutes, I tried to find my pictures but must have deleted them. I just put two bends in a flat...

Re: rusty door sills?

There have been several threads on this problem. I cut the sill out of my 93 and replaced it with a section of 18g sheetmetal. It is the only permanent way to fix it. Do a search I am sure there...

Re: Please help-wheel bearing or what?

Alot of times these things will not make the sound when the weight is off of them, but it is still worth a try.

Re: Please help-wheel bearing or what?

I do not think you should be so absolute in your diagnoses. Sure it could be a wheel bearing but there are plenty of other things too. Also it would certainly suck to have one freeze up.

I...

Re: Please help-wheel bearing or what?

I have the same problem and have been trying to figure it out for a year. I think I have come to the conclusion that it is either a strut mount or strut bearing. It is a very tough problem to...

Re: HELP! Key stuck in second possition

My car has been doing this for years. Just dedicate a hour to sit down with it and keep wiggling it. It will come out, the more it happens to you the easier it will come out. Eventually you will...

Re: Front end pull and wobble

I got an alignment today, much much better. The right wheel had positive 1 inch of toe in. That is why she was pulling to the left and why the right tire was worn so badly on the outside. It turns...

Re: It's the little things that kill

I noticed the same thing on a recent trip. Sometimes I fold it under my right leg to change the position but it does not strech it.

Re: Front end pull and wobble

Thanks for all the comments, I think I will try this. My father who drove the car a couple of days before I left mentioned the wobble but said nothing about the pull. Then I rotated the tires and I...

Front end pull and wobble

I just came back from a 500 miles round trip and have some problems on the highway. First I have a pull to the left, not terrible but very noticable. Second the steering wheel feels very loose, it...

Re: SL2 Belt Tensioner Pully

You should be able to tighten it from the top. Both the idler and tensioner pulleys can be pulled from the top.

Re: Another fuel economy question, coasting.

When a gear goes from drive to coast thers has to be a point at which there is no load on that gear. If you time it correctly you can just pull it out of gear. The only damage that I can think of...

Re: Another fuel economy question, coasting.

I did a search and did not find too much, I must have missed that thread.
Most on the time when I go to nuetral I do not even use the clutch, I just time it right when the gears are not loaded and...

Re: Cheap fix for a bad serpentine belt tension pulley

Two thoughts, yes this is a great fix. But, this is only if the bearing is bad, what about the spring? The same bearing fits the idler if anyone cares.

Second, you do not need a press. Two...

Re: How much should a new clutch cost?

I changed mine at about 120,000 but when I took it off it had a ton of friction material still on it. I do not know why it was slipping. There was no oil or atf on it. The springs on the pressure...

Re: How much should a new clutch cost?

I believe usually around $1000. It is a tough job. Either the engine has to be taken out or the cradle dropped and the the trans pulled into the driver wheel well.
