Does your gauge have numbers?
How hot is it where you live?

With the engine running and when you turn the compressor off then on do you hear any sounds? Like it usually slows the engine a bit.

Before i replaced my bearing i had a shorter belt on that bypassed the compressor.
Just order the belt for non AC car.
No need to remove the compressor.

I just did this repair. I needed to unbolt and move the compressor. But the lines stayed on, no problem.

There will allways be die around the servive ports. Just from connecting and disconnecting.
Let us know if you find leaks with your uv light.

The knocking does not sound good.
But first you must find the leak or leaks.
Get some soapy bubbly water and start cheching. Check the hose adapters where you add refrigerant, that is where mine...

Did you try your test light at the fuse. I mean pull the EIS fuse out and check for voltage on the fuse pins.

Did you measure the compression?
Do you pull the spark plugs after it stalls to see if you have too much or not enough gas?
