I'm getting an exhaust rattling again which preceded my last flex pipe failure. I'll see where this goes. I haven't looked to see yet, what might be the actual cause.

You are probably right. I do know the only reason that our Astra's came with only ONE engine choice, is because ONLY the 1.8l was able to mate with both a manual and automatic transmission. I'm...
