Re: 1995 SL-2 Dash pad

It's not identical until 99? The dash is identical, but the top part is not always in 3 parts? I never noticed that in the numerous 96-99 i cried into at the junkyard:p

Re: rattle can blue to match?

Saturns were made to be cheap, but in many of my old car guides, they mentioned many times how the paint quality and proicess was as good or even better than what was put on Mercedes and BMW...

Re: 1995 SL-2 Dash pad

It's plastic. If a non visible part is broken, it's easy to fix. Otherwise, good luck finding a 95 or a 96-99 for its dash :(

Re: Switching Door Lock Cylinders On My SL1

Having played with such systems lately on my Volvo, i could certainly help, if i had the car nearby to analyse and work on. Obviously it will never happen because i'm the only Saturn guy in a 1000kms...

Re: New SW1 owner 117,000 miles

Seems like a good buy. Just inspect the 3 corners to ensure every chassis bits that holds your swing arms are ok. Even at low mileage, i have seen catastrophes at the junkyard...

Usually it's...

Re: Used S Series Prices

In my area, the S Series are just very rare to find for sale since a decade now. Remains the dangerously rotten ones of various mileage from 1200 to 3000.

I paid my excellent condition SL2 for...

Re: Where to find 1991 SL2 body parts for body shop

It's a real shame that i have no place for it... In my neighbor's town, someone i know is having one for sale, only good for parts, of that exact color. It's 400 CAN$. I thought about buying it for...

Re: Saturn Ion 17" rims...

17 inches on an Ion? A supercharged Redline Ion, right? Otherwise i don't see what model had 17 icnhes. As i know, the sportier versions were in 5 nuts, so they don't fit at all.

Re: Never thought I'd be in the market for another S-series, but here I am

Yay! You found one!

In here 3500 would be cheap if it's decent. Unrepairable ones in here are 1500-2000 :dizzy:

Re: MP3 Axle Seal Leak

I had the same issue on my 95 SL2 after i swapped it to manual. The seal was leaking and i had all the problems in the world to be able to replace it. I broke like 5 of them. Even with an oil filter...

Re: Mad as hell about oil filters

I started to avoid buying stuff from China too. For car parts i only buy what is available, but for other stuff i buy on internet, i ensure not to buy something that will come from China. Better pay...

Re: SL1 trans-engine bracket bent out of shape!

I have a 95 SL2 and this bracket reminds me nothing at all. Is it a thing on newer models? I don't remember any engine/transmission mount placed in the area. I swapped the tranny for a manual, i...

Re: How big can rims be?

Playing with the offset of the wheel won't help for the bearings either, that would still do a lever effect compared to the place the wheel is situated vs the place the original wheel would be....

Re: How big can rims be?

On my SL2 i never had to change much. My rear bearings are very noisy but the spacers are to blame. Thpose wheels are barely larger than the 15 inches steelies. I don't think 5% thinner tires could...

Re: How big can rims be?

Ion wheels are fitting perfectly. I only had to put 1.5inches ish spacers in the rear not to look too odd compared to the front. 205 wide, 45 or 50 high, not too sure. Ah, yeah, 16 inches of...

Today i went to the barn where my SL2 is stored and started it. Cranked like half a turn and the thing started right away. I'm mostly surprised by that 9 years old battery more than the car willing...
