To be fair, the owner changed the ATF every 10k miles. But the trans and engine were 100% original at the 883,000 mile mark,...

I think that may have developed as a "shortcut / eyeball" way of checking the top mount. The OEM Saturn method involved a ruler/straight edge.
I attached the TSB-01-T-30A for top engine mount...

I agree with cgg17, sounds like your overall AC system is fine.
You mean the AC gets warmer when travelling at higher speeds? Do you still get 38F at the center vent when driving on the hwy?

It's pretty subtle, but the 3rd gen body style SC1 came with a flatter rear trunk spoiler. The SC2 has a small upward turning lip "extension" at the rear of the spoiler. No other clues on the body...
