Re: Clutch slipping - how long do I have?

Would you recommend replacing the flywheel at the same time if I want to increase my chances of a successful repair?

Clutch slipping - how long do I have?

Original clutch - 252K miles. Starting to slip in 3rd and 4th gears. Will this get worse quickly or gradually? It's a nuisance now but would be a safety issue if it got significantly worse...

Re: Help-can't turn clutch master cylinder

It took a little judicious shaving with a razor blade and pushing in as I turned and then it went on. Everything is back together and it's easy to get into gear again. I used all your advice -...

Re: Help-can't turn clutch master cylinder

I did but didn't see any difference. However you're right, there must be something. I'll check more carefully, thanks.

1999 Saturn SL. I'm replacing the clutch hydraulics and the new master cylinder will not turn and attach to the firewall. I just took the old one off so I know I'm tightening in the right direction...

Re: Garage installed my front pipe, bracket missing

I doubt they still have that bracket. It's been five days since they had the car in the shop. I tend to be too trusting and didn't question the mechanic's statements at the time. Plus he's my...

Garage installed my front pipe, bracket missing

I had a local indie garage install my new front pipe and cat. As you can see they removed the bracket/clamp that usually attaches to the flex pipe behind the bend. The mechanic said he couldn't get...

Re: Did I buy the wrong front/flex pipe?

Thanks. I'm going to talk with a couple shops in the area and see what they can do. My intermediate pipe is solid as well except for the flange. I found they sell "split flanges" which can be used...

Re: Did I buy the wrong front/flex pipe?

I'll give it a try. I couldn't weld myself out of a paper bag however. If it ends up being wrong I think I could put the old pipe and cat back on and drive to a muffler shop to have them make the...

Re: Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement

I replaced the lock cylinder in my 99 SL with LC13590 from Advance Auto. Their parts finder at the time indicated it was not a match but fortunately some comments referenced the SL so I gave it a...
