Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

You have me curious about the dome light, do you have pics? :D

Re: Trying to figure out if aftermarket motor mounts still suck in 2021

See, now you got me curious because I can barely sense any vibration in the engine itself, even with it cold and just starting to run, but I can feel A LOT of vibration coming off the exhaust pipe. ...

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

Mine wasn't quite "today", but I had to take my car in for a blown rear brake line. I'd do the lines myself, but I'm working so much right now because of lazy peons not going out to get a job that I...

Re: Trying to figure out if aftermarket motor mounts still suck in 2021

I've been curious, what the hell makes these cars vibrate so much? I replaced all four engine mounts in mine and I can place my hand on the engine and not feel a single vibration (aside from just...

Re: What Arm Rests Fit 2000 SL1?

Just scored a black arm rest that fits my car, was posted just today, got it for $53! Woo!

Re: What Arm Rests Fit 2000 SL1?

That linked one was one of the ones I was looking at, but I can't tell if it's the same color as my interior, though it is a mix of black and whatever that grey/khaki color is.

What Arm Rests Fit 2000 SL1?

I only just found out that some cars had an OPTION for an arm rest rather than the black hole that is the center console "armrest delete" insert and I'm trying to figure out which ones are which.

Re: Rear bumper lettering cleanup

I wouldn't bother with it except the vinyl is cracking in some places and if it's anything like the old pin stripes I had to remove, it's not coming off and will damage the paint. Guess better to...

Re: Rear bumper lettering cleanup

That thought had come to mind, but the vinyl doesn't quite lineup with the recessed letters, though that could be age of the vinyl too if it had shifted any in all these years.

I'm gonna repost...

Re: Rear bumper vinyl decal insert letters

I totally didn't realize I just necro'd such an old thread, I thought I was replying to my thread asking a similar question, I had this one open and replied by accident!

Re: Rear bumper vinyl decal insert letters

Wait! I do have a pic of the rear bumper!

Again, that's a very oddly specific decal that someone made up if it isn't factory. I'm also starting to wonder if the pin stripes were factory too...

Re: Rear bumper vinyl decal insert letters

Only just got a notification there was a reply to my thread!

Well, if they weren't from the factory, then someone put in a LOT of time and effort to stencil some vinyl and fill in those letters.

Rear bumper lettering cleanup

Was poking around eBay and I came across this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/253280902686?fits=Make%3ASaturn&hash=item3af8b7de1e:g:YmYAAOSwhshg7CRk

Unfortunately they list it as Ion only and a...

Re: Blower doesnít work on high

I have noticed that the relay for the fan clicks when you switch it to high, but not when it's on the other three settings. Can you hear the relay click when you flip it on high even if it's not...

Re: Valvoline Blue Restore

Personally, I'm leery of putting anything in the engine that isn't just motor oil. I've had not-so-good experiences with things that are supposed to help the engine and only served to cause me...

Re: Mixing orange and green antifreeze

If youíre putting coolant in and itís not going in, you might have a bad water pump, the impeller might have failed.

Re: Occasional P0440 EVAP leak

I wasn't sure what other tubes to look for, I just made sure the ones at the top of the engine and running down to the solenoid were ok. If I get under it again, I'll look for the other one and see...

Re: Occasional P0440 EVAP leak

So far I've checked everything engine-side that leads up to the EVAP solenoid and I verified there are no cracks or leaks, but I don't have a way to test the solenoid itself (also because it's a pain...

Re: Suddenly no blower fan

Well, my confidence jumped up a bit and I decided to just go for it. I learned some things along the way too. For instance, you don't HAVE to pull the fuses out of the box to pull the back off.

Re: Suddenly no blower fan

Finally got to look deeper into the problem. I wasn't getting power to the fan from the relay, though the relay works fine.

The pin that sends power from the relay to the fan wasn't making...

Suddenly no blower fan

Ugh, of course I just get the A/C recharged and now my blower fan has quit.

Here's what I know/did:

One of the leads on the relay looks like it melted and the lead itself was loose.

The plug...

Re: A/C Recharged, Everything Working Fine

Yeah, the guy at the shop agreed that it was a better move that I replaced the entire compressor instead of just the clutch (aside from the fact it was only $30 more for the whole thing) because his...

A/C Recharged, Everything Working Fine

Fiiiinally got the car in to get the A/C recharged today. They ran the vacuum on it and said it was holding steady, so no leaks like I originally thought when I first got the car.

New compressor...
