Re: Taking a break from Saturn
2005 Hyundai Elantra GT. Great condition. This is the GF's car and she loves it. We both purchased our first SL2's about 6 years ago. Then I owned Toyotas, and currently have a 05 Accord V6 coupe

Re: Taking a break from Saturn
I'm not against owning one again in the future. I've always liked how easy they are to work on, and how inexpensive the parts are. It was just time for a change right now, to bigger and better things...

Re: Poor fuel mileage
I have the same exact problem which I made a thread about recently. No driveability issues, no codes, a bunch of parts changed. MPG in the low 20s
The only thing different that I noticed on the...

Re: ac questions
About 40 - 55 degrees on these cars is probably normal
All the ones we've owned have had good working A/C. On a hot day at the vents they've read about 55 at idle, 50 during stop and go traffic,...

Re: Poor gas mileage. What else to check
Compression test results, done with the Injector fuse and plugs removed, engine warm, and throttle open. Did not do a wet test. I also only let the engine turn about 5 times, but I think cranking it...

Re: Poor gas mileage. What else to check
I will reset the computer later today. Now that a new fuel filter was installed and the tank has treatment in it, I connected the scanner today and noticed STFT were mostly in the single digits even...

Re: Poor gas mileage. What else to check
The needle position is at 1/4 when the ECTS is reading about 150*, and in the middle when its reading about 210*, which is normal from what I have read on here.
I also noticed that on...

Re: Poor gas mileage. What else to check
Thanks. I will be changing the fuel filter and putting in some fuel system cleaner this weekend (I dont think its ever been done), and will hook up the scanner to it again and monitor it some more,...

Re: Poor gas mileage. What else to check
Can anyone verify if the readings from the second O2 are normal? From what I've been reading, and connecting the scanner to another car, the second O2 sensor should barely be changing, or should be...

Re: Mileage Down To 23 MPG from 36 MPG!!!
I'm also trying to figure out a low MPG issue. Will replace the fuel filter, then possibly a compression test if there's no improvement. What has be baffled is that the engine still runs strong with...

Re: Poor gas mileage. What else to check

Re: Poor gas mileage. What else to check
Yes, all that has been done. I have a little Actron code reader/scanner that reads live data. Going to hook up the car to it later tonight and check the readings. Its not as good as a fancy one, but...

Thanks. The plugs are NGK, tire pressures and PCV valve are ok, EGR valve and coil towers are clean. Tomorrow I'll change the fuel filter, put in some FI cleaner, and do a compression test.

Poor gas mileage. What else to check
Ever since last year we've noticed the gas mileage slowly dropping on the SL2. Its now getting around 21-22 MPG in city driving and no heavy foot. I calculate it by dividing the miles per tank by the...

Re: Horn question
Noticed today the horn is working intermittently. The relay clicks all the time, but the horn only goes off sometimes. Guess I'll buy a cheap used horn and see if that fixes it.

Re: Horn question
What I did was I unplugged the connector and checked it with a test light first. Then a voltmeter and it showed battery voltage when the button is pressed. This is when I thought the horn had to be...
