Re: Looking for a 2.2L engine for a LW1

All you need to do for an inspection of the chain
and guides is to remove the valve cover.

Re: Looking for a 2.2L engine for a LW1

It very well could be timing chain & guides failing.
I would at least remove the valve cover and take a look.
Cheaper and easier than replacing the engine.
And you know what you have.

Re: Power Steering Seal

I was hoping for a little more specific information.
The shaft seal is the only thing that needs replaced.
Was hoping to do it in the car. Without removing the pump.

Re: Starter Location 2000 LS2

I dont find the V-6 to be especially hard to change the oil and filter.
The thermostat is a different story.

Re: Saturn L300 control arm bolts

Bolts are bolts. People get caught up in not knowing that.
Most automotive fasteners are available from other sources.
McMaster -Carr is a great source for fasteners.

On to the next issue with my 02 L300; P/S hoses.

Has any one replaced the P/S hoses from the rack to the pump ?
Mine are leaking where there are clamped to the frame near the front tire. The metal portion has rusted away.
