Re: AC compressor not running

I have looked into removing the clutch assembly on my L-Series car, but found it unworkable. The distance between the clutch and frame rail is too close to get tools in place to perform that work. I...

Re: LW300 Brake lights

02 LW300 is correct regarding the dual filament bulb. Your brake lights and tail lights are on separate circuits which is why one will illuminate while other won't.

I just want to be clear in...

Re: Rocker Panels

For wrecking yards around the country go to http://www.car-part.com. I've purchased from wreckers on that site without any difficulties. Otherwise, look through a local/nearby LKQ Pick Your Part...

Does a failing brake light switch cause more than one problem?

The simple short answer is yes, it does. I replaced my brake light switch yesterday. This was a warranty part from Autozone - Duralast P/N DR 4109 (the A/Z part in their box was a GM part with the OE...

Re: Low Power and Engine rattle-old rubber band trick

I know that this question was directed to rfisher, but I decided to jump in and give my "2 cents worth." The factory original timing components on my car were not replaced until August of 2019,...

Re: 2.2L ECOTECH Timing tensioner

FWIW, I was able to nearly eliminate the rattle at start up by adding HY-PER LUBE Oil Supplement at each oil change. The timing components were replaced at about 312K miles. Based on how much quieter...

Re: 2.2L ECOTECH Timing tensioner

I'd go with the Cloyes #95374. I used their complete timing component sets when replacing my timing chain and balance shaft chain. Everything worked well. The chains were tight and quiet. Keep in...

Re: Low Power and Engine rattle

With regard to factory specifications for compression my 2000 L81 FSM engine book shows 190 PSI with an open throttle at 250 RPM. I suspect that the compression numbers didn't change over the run of...

Re: How is your L-Series Doing?

There's some extra clatter coming from under the hood and, after hunting down the source of the noise, all of the accessory items related to the engine were eliminated. The "stethoscope" could...

Re: Saturn LW200 Disc Brake Conversion

You also need the steel brake lines running to the calipers along with the parking brake cables. There is likely to be more availability of the parts you need from wrecking yards south of the...

Re: Missing EGR Valve ?

Judging from the OE parts catalog online, it's possible that the EGR Valve could've been omitted from the '05 L300. As one would expect, a new EGR valve is NLA from '00 through '03 although the part...
