Re: 98 SC2 project. Drive for now, maybe rebuild later.

Before I stopped driving the SC2, I found a hitch at the junkyard. I cleaned it up and painted it.

Re: Mp2 rebuild

I've got no idea, sorry. Mine came apart nicely but it didn't blow the pin first.

Re: Mp2 rebuild

I think the McMaster roll pin is good. I also think there are no rebuild kits available anymore, so your best bet is a used transmission with an improved pin. You can still get seals.
Your old...

This looks like a broken diff pin:

That shaft is what the little gears spin on in the differential. The split pin...

Re: Mp2 rebuild

You can post youtube links, but I'm not sure about video files directly.

It may be that the snap rings go out rather than in, I can't remember. It has been a few years.

Re: 1999 SW2 Key fob / transmitter

I have a '98 and a '99. I believe the '99 doesn't have all the crap the Gen 3 cars do, except for the narrow head. My '99 doesn't have power locks so no key fobs. My '98 was easy to program. You...

Trailer hitch installation - remove exhaust?

Hey all,
I started looking at installing my junkyard hitch today. Not sure if it's required to drop the muffler, but looks like it. Any recent experience?

Re: Mp2 rebuild

Hard to see in the picture, but usually a cracked case is a busted diff pin. Probably junk - I'd take it apart to see. It's not that hard.

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

This was actually a few days ago - returned my '98 SC2 to service. We sold the 2008 Mazda. To get the SC2 going again, I did the following:
1) charged the battery
2) put in 3 gallons of gas
3)...
