Loss of fluid, engine oil and brake fluid.

I'm working on the '99 Saturn my son gave back to me. It had leaked a large quantity of oil under the right hand side front wheel which I believe to be engine oil due to a bad gasket on the drain...

Re: 2004 VUE Code PO446 Evap canister vent selenoid

Oops, It's the EVAP purge control solenoid valve that is at the lower left side of the engine. The EVAP canister vent shut valve is on the top of the canister.

Besides your gas cap and the...

Re: 2004 VUE Code PO446 Evap canister vent selenoid

Chilton manual says for 2004 and later "The valve is at the lower left side of the engine"

Re: 2006 vue car camping-getting back seat flat

Even if your bodies were flat, having an air mattress underneath should allow for conformation to your body. I suggest trying it before removing the rear seat. They don't come out easy like those...

Re: A/C sometimes blows hot air & sometimes cold..don't think its the compressor...

From this description it's hard for me to determine WHEN you had cooling and WHEN you didn't.

But taking the last portion, "On the interstate it was perfectly fine...when I let it idle while...

Re: A/C sometimes blows hot air & sometimes cold..don't think its the compressor...

Since at times it blows cool air, I would agree it's most likely not the compressor. My first guesses would be the scroll valve (about $50 for the part) or low Freon. If you could be more specific...

Re: 2007 Saturn VUE Door Lock Issue

Make sure it's your problem first.

I'm frugal and enjoying doing failure analysis. Once I had removed the door panel and took the switch apart, it was just quicker to do the repair.

I've had...

Re: 2007 Saturn VUE Door Lock Issue

On my Vue the printed circuit integral with the switch had an open. I repaired it with the left over components of a rear window defroster repair kit. That was several years ago and it still works....

Re: A few questions from someone new to Saturns...

For #2 I suggest checking the bearings and brakes(pads)at that location. If the pads are gone, check the brake hose for blockage at that location (rust inside the stand off for the hose causes the...

Re: Update: Homeless in my 07 vue. Need expert tips on harmonic balance

I changed mine last fall with the balance shaft chain/sprockets. I used an air impact. Are you using rope in a cylinder compressed by a piston to keep the crank from turning? If you can't get a...

Re: Update: Homeless in my 07 vue. Need expert tips on harmonic balance

Good, you have a friend and the Vue isn't in danger of getting towed.

Since you have the valve cover off and the chain is drooping (I'm assuming just a little slack in the chain, not that it's...

Re: Update: Homeless in my 07 vue. Need expert tips on harmonic balance

You really need a breaker bar and a 4' length of pipe to fit over it. A pipe with a ratchet may work or it may break the ratchet.

1) If you are homeless, where are you working on the Vue?

Re: 2007 Saturn Vue burning oil
