Re: Anyone have an extra bolt like this...?

Sorry I don't have one, but not long ago I lost 1 in my large gravel driveway.....I grabbed a super magnet (from my son) and found it!
Got a good magnet handy??

Re: Canadian source Remanufactured TAAT trans 98 s coupe

So, what's wrong with the transmission you have? Maybe it's not as bad as you thought.

Re: Manual Window Very Difficult to Roll Up and Down

Don't force it, summat else will be damaged.
I would remove the door skin and get access to the regulator assembly, something is binding it up, or broken and no longer supporting the frame the glass...

Re: MP7 Transmission Lost All Gears

Who rebuilt the transmission?
"IF" a trans shop, then, is it still under warranty?
Here in VA, the local trans guys give us 3-year 36K mileage warranty.
But even if your shop did the work and only...

Re: Rear disc conversion

Stopping distance?
It won't stop you any faster, as the rear drums (or rear disc's) on a Saturn won't matter much....the rear's don't do much to stop your car anyway. That's why the rear drums are...

Re: Ac clutch engaging but air will not get cold

System is either low on refrigerant and/or, ambient air has been introduced into the system. Need to verify pressures with a gauge set, and locate where the leak has occurred, repair leak, vacuum...

Re: new SL -- help w/ what to do now?

I would forget getting the Iridium fine wire spark plugs, they are not the best for the waste spark ignition that our Saturn-S's use.

Just buy any old plain copper electrode instead.

After...

Re: New A/C compressor

But, lest I sound too negative, non of these other cars I have had ever came close to being repairable at home, and the 3x more expensive cars?, well, they do not come close to achieving even half of...

Re: New A/C compressor

Here's another reason why, because: "her car cost 3x as much as my SW2".

My 2010 Avalanche with 220K on original AC, is ice cold on startup as well at the 2004 Suburban with 194K on original AC...

Re: 93 SL2 trans wont engage

How long have you owned it?
How many miles on the engine, and on the clutch?

You just might likely need a clutch replacement and throw-out bearing.

Re: I hate ABS

It causes more accidents than it is worth.
It does such a slow job of stopping a vehicle, it lets the car stop straight alright, but the car travels much further than conventional brake systems that...

Re: Serious Bogging issues

Then my friend, seeing that your car has 100 hp, and the SL2 has 124, it then should not be unusual to turn off the AC to climb up hills.
That low horsepower engine just can't hit inclines well and...

Re: Serious Bogging issues

No, I am simply asking which model you have.
the SOHC single overhead cam has a whole lot less horsepower to climb hills than does the DOHC dual overhead cam engine.
It make a great difference...

Re: Serious Bogging issues

The simplest question has not been answered.
Is this the SOHC (SC1/SL1/SW1) or DOHC engine (SC2/SL2/SW2)?

Re: Serious Bogging issues

Is your car the 2002 SC1 (SOHC)or SC2 DOHC)?
And how serious are these hills you need to climb up?
If it's the low HP SOHC engine, and its a steep or long hill climb, then YES, you might just have...

Re: Oil Pressure Lamp Won't Turn On Even With Good Bulb

OP: stated "It has a good bulb. I switched around the bulb in case polarity was wrong. Still didn't light up."
So, might be a bad LED.

Re: Economy ? Seriously ?

I had that 2.2L engine also, it is only rated as 20 city, 26 highway.
Whereas, your 2002 SL2 should do at least 30 city and 35 to even 40+ on the highway.
The only ever way to know is to fillup...

Re: Reverse Slam Cure - Change fluid/filter after?

Just to be clear, you DID change tranny fluid and spin on filter BEFORE doing the Wolfman thing in reverse against a solid object, correct?
I myself had to do Wolfmans thing at least twice in 100K...

Re: OHM Readings for First gen Automatic MP6

You need to push the gas pedal halfway, just to get it to move?
Sounds like your catalytic convertor is clogged, no?
