Re: PCM replacement

The PCM should not need reprograming as long as year, model, engine & transmission are the same. It will probably need to run under a few different conditions as it resets to your car.

Re: S-series splash shield and air dam NOS

They may not work for me. I have a 1995 SC-2 (w/ pop up headlights). Are they backward compatible to that year & model?
Thanks

Are they still available? Will you accept PayPal? Does the air dam fit the splash shield? Thanks.

Re: Head shave timing retarding a myth?

[QUOTE=Saturn Night;2277383]Aside from the performance losses associated with shaving the head, you are trying to compensate by raising static compression ratio, which increases combustion...

Evap Purge valve solenoid

The vacuum line to the Evap Purge valve solenoid on my 1995 SC-2 is broken and cracked in several places. I want to replace it w/ a flexible vac line but can't see where it goes and none of the...

Re: Engine RPM surges when hot.

It has the brass sensors, that was the first thing I did after buying the car years ago but I will check them this weekend. I don't think it is expensive so I will just replace it and see what...

Engine RPM surges when hot.

Last weekend I replaced the battery in my 95 SC2. I also added refrigerant to the AC since my gage showed it was low. On Tuesday afternoon I drove it to work and noticed the engine RPM's surging. ...

Re: Dual Intake Cams

At least 1 guy used the longer 3rd gen rods w/ first gen pistons to increase compression even further.

Re: Dual Intake Cams

I also installed flat faced, undercut valves.

Come to think of it I have an identical head almost ready to go, it just needs the valves cut in, that I will probably sell when done.

I appreciate your caution but this has been done many times by Saturn owners here.

Re: Dual Intake Cams

Nice video but a couple of things. I have had this on on my '95 SC2 for over a year, drive it almost every day and have found no issue w/ streetability. The head has also been milled .040" and...

Re: Who bought an AMR front strut brace in the Group Buy of 2012?

Several years ago I purchased their all aluminum radiator as part of a group buy-in. It took a while to get it but I knew it was a custom fabrication and would be slow in coming. I was extremely...

Re: Group Buy: AMR front strut tower brace

Mine is raw. Comparing the 2 bars, it looks like the welder welded the 2 cross pipes to far back by about 1/2" on the first batch. The new one has the cross pipes farther forward.

I still think...

Re: Header Q's

In 1991 and 92 Saturn used a true short Tri-Y header. While not the optimum design it is far better than the cast iron header used since 92. Both the OBX and the Pacesetter headers are copies of...

Re: Group Buy: AMR front strut tower brace

I received a replacement earlier this week and I hope everyone else did as well. Now maybe you can stop ragging on AMR. I for one appreciate the effort they went to getting parts for our Saturn's...

How much does an S series short block weigh?

OK, I know that is a strange question.

The reason I am asking is I want to remove the engine from my wife’s SL-2 before I junk it and rebuild it over the winter for My SC-2. Since I don’t have an...

Re: 30 PSI Compression Cylinder #3

You could do a Leak Down Test to pin point the problem but in your case it would be a waist of time since you might as well just pull the head.

I doubt you head gasket is causing the coolant leak....

Re: mod question.

The 91-94 heads will not fit a 95 engine. 95 was the first year for the electric EGR valve. I thing there was an adaptor for California cars but it would be very hard to find.

Re: Geo Storm Throttle body on a Saturn

The improvement comes at full throttle assuming you have other mods to support it particularly a good header. Less than full throttle there is no difference. Think about it, with the butterfly...

Re: FS: Gen 3 tie-plate package deal

I got mine yesterday, super fast shipping. Thanks again, I was just pulling your chain about it being so dirty. The last time I dropped a Saturn oil pan you had to scrape the crap out.
